Universal Robots Solutions

This year Universal Robots brand has joined the Total Technologies portfolio.

Universal Robots is a Danish company that dominates the collaborative robot market worldwide. The company's vison was to make robot-based technology accesible to everyone by developing flexible, small-sized industrial robots that were easy and safe to use at a reasonable price. Since the launch of the first collaborative robot (cobot) in 2008, the company has experienced explosive growth.

With the headquarter in Odense, Denmark, Universal Robots has multiple subsidiaries and regional offices in: United Sates, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Poland, Turkey, China, India, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Mexico.

Having a 50% global market share, to which the 65 patents it holds have contributed significantly, we can say with certainty that Universal  Robots is the company that dictates the trends in the collaborative robots segment.

Cobots can be used on an extremely large number of production and logistic lines, helping to streamline all types of repetitive processes, such as: packaging, palletizing, gluing or assembly. As a result , thanks to the robotization of processes, companies manage to reduce costs, streamline tasks, increase productivity and improve the quality of service  and customer experience. The number of accidents at work is also dramatically reduced.

A study conducted in 2016 by MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) togheter with Financial Times shows that a human-robot collaboration is 85% more efficient than the work done only by humans or only by robots.

Currently, most cobots are used in  the automotive, electronics and logistics industries, but Universal Robots representatives say they see great potential for expanding their use to many more business segments.

Total Technologies is proud to have such a prestigious brand in its portofolio. "The extremely rapid and major changes, both economically and socially,  that we are facing in recent years, force the technological industry to be much more open, and to enthusiastically embrace innovation. Robotics is gaining momentum and making its presence felt more and more, and the use of industrial robots is an increasingly common practice all over the world. Today, work automation is an indispensable element for advanced supply chains. We believe that in a period where the only constant is change, a business that tends to a maximum level of performance cannot remain anchored in the past. Digitization and implicitly robotization are a must have." - said Mihaela Iancu, Development Manager at Total Technologies.
