Libearty-Brown Bear Sanctuary uses Honeywell technology

Since the Easter holiday is coming up and because Total Technologies is a company that cares about nature and the environment, we allow ourselves to make a suggestion. Go on a tour of “LIBEARTY” – the largest animal welfare project in Europe, where you have the opportunity to see brown bears in their natural habitat.

The story of the bear shelter began in 2005, when the Million Friends Association signed a public-private partnership with Zărnești City Hall, through which it received a 49-year concession for the land needed to build the "LIBEARTY" sanctuary.

WAP (World Animal Protection) has joined these efforts in the "Save the Captive Bear" Project - Europe's largest project for the rescue, care and welfare of the brown bear.

More than 130 bears have been rescued from a life of nightmare abuse in tiny cages compared to the space these animals need, imprisoned behind rusted bars and with cement under their paws instead of grass. Until they reached the sanctuary, some of them didn't even know what it was like to climb a tree, hide from the sun on hot days, or enjoy a dip in a lake. Many of them were kept in cages near restaurants, hotels, guesthouses, near lodges and gas stations as tourist attractions. There were also cases of "immeasurable love" of someone who, instead of letting them live in their natural environment, preferred to keep them behind bars.

Society has reached a point where technology and people's lives can no longer be separated. People rely on technology for most of their daily activities. And even here at LIBEARTY, in a corner of nature as wild as can be, technology has penetrated. Access to the tour is based on QR code tickets, which are scanned with Honeywell's EDA 51. This technology helps to streamline the ticketing process and improve the overall visitor experience.
